Termites Although termites can cause serious damage, they are not always a serious defect. Termites are found in many homes. They feed on mainly on wood and can cause significant damage within a home if left untreated. They live in colonies that range in numbers from hundreds of thousands to millions. They do not generally live inside the home. They enter the home by making tubes in which they travel to find food. When they find a food source they take what they can back to the colony.

Asbestos is a mineral fiber. Years ago asbestos was thought of as a miracle fiber, we know better now. It was used in many products to strengthen them and for it's fire resistance. It can be found in many areas of a home and can only be positively identified using a microscope.

Mold
Mold is a type of fungus. Within a home excess moisture is the main contributing factor in mold growth. Mold spores will grow and spread, starting new colonies. Eventually they can damage the very surfaces it is living on. Mold can cause both structural and health problems.

Federal Pacific Electrical Panels
This type of electrical panel is generally thought to be unsafe. They can be a latent fire hazard and their breakers can fail to trip when needed leading to electrical fires. It is recommended that they be inspected and replaced by a qualified licensed electrician.
